    2001年4月10日至11日，贵州省贵阳市在香港展览中心举行2001年贵阳(香港)投资贸易洽谈会，2天的会期，共给贵阳带来84个总投资额为18亿美元的签约项目，其中，签约引进资金额度达13.5亿美元。
    对外贸易经济合作部副部长龙永图、中央政府驻港联络办公室副主任刘山在等领导专程出席开幕式并剪彩。
    这次签约的84个项目中，总投资额度超过1000万美元的有39个项目，投资比例最大的是基础设施建设，特别是金阳新区建设，占全部投资的38,35%。贸洽会期间，很多有实力的外商对贵阳的基础设施建设表现出浓厚兴趣，特别是一些有偿项目，如收费公路，污水处理等更是成为外商关注的热点。
    引资额度位居第二的是高新技术，将近20%。贵阳市经贸代表团团长、贵阳市市长孙国强认为，这说明贵阳市选择新材料、信息技术、光机电一体化，走高新科技产业的道路得到了客商的认同。
    工业项目的引资比例占12.73%，这是历年招商引资活动中比例最高的一次。
    贵阳市政府已决定，由“一站办”为所有项目给予特殊的服务，全程的服务和跟踪的服务，力争提高资金的到位率，使项目在贵阳生根开花结果。 

    据贵州省招商引资局不完全统计，一季度贵州省引进省外项目200余个，资金7.68亿元，比去年同期增长24%，利用国外资金1702万美元（含引入中外企业资金）。 
    今年以来，贵州省招商引资局推出了58个招商引资重点项目和200个中小项目;利用世界银行三期技援项目研究成果，按照联合国工业发展组织提供的规范文本，研制了“贵州省招商引资项目电子表格”。他们还采取组团参加在北京举行的“加拿大——中国西部的友谊与合作”活动等形式与亚太、欧美等地外商加强联系，积极牵线搭桥，多形式推介项目。

    国家电力公司2001年工作会议4月26日至4月28日在贵阳举行。会议明确了全国电力系统今年改革、发展、稳定各项重点任务，提出“十五”期间发展基本目标：到2005年，全资及控股发电装机容量达到1．56亿千瓦，年发电量7200亿千瓦时，年售电量12000亿千瓦时，公司投资规模6000亿元，“西电东送”、“南北互供”取得重大突破，基本实现全国联网，初步形成全国统一、公平竞争、规范有序的电力市场体系。
    这次会议在贵州召开，是国家电力公司贯彻西部大开发决策，推动“西电东送”的重要举措。会议召开之前，省委书记钱运录等贵州省党政领导同志会见了高严总经理等国家电力公司领导同志，表达了共同努力推进“西电东送”的共识。会议开幕时，钱运录和省长石秀诗等到会致贺，感谢国家电力公司对贵州电力事业的长期支持，表示将举全省之力加快实施“西电东送”工程。会议期间，国家电力公司、贵州省人民政府举行了推进“西电东送”工程座谈会。国电公司负责人还与国内几家著名大型企业经理参加了贵州省电力项目投资座谈会，并到安顺电厂、索风营水电站等“西电东送”工程重点项目工地考察。

    4月23日至29日，由国家对外贸易经济合作部、国家旅游局、国务院侨务办公室、中国国际贸易促进委员会和重庆市政府联合主办的第六届中国、重庆投资贸易洽谈会暨三峡国际旅游节在重庆市隆重举行。以省长石秀诗为团长、副省长龙超云为副团长的贵州代表团参加了开幕式。
    贸洽会期间，贵州展厅向与会嘉宾展示了贵州在交通、电力、煤炭等方面58个重点招商引资项目和200个中小招商项目，签订合同协议15个，总金额7．8亿元。

    5月10日，中国少数民族和民族地区名优特新产品交易会在深圳高交会馆隆重开幕。
    以副省长龙超云为团长的贵州代表团与来自加拿大、香港、深圳、广州、湖南等地客商达成招商引资项目24项，涉及金额19.86亿余元。

Guiyang Holds a Trade Talk in Hong Kong

    On April 10-11, Guiyang Municipal Government held a trade talk at the Exhibition Center in Hong Kong. During the two-day meeting, 84 projects were initialed with an investment of 1.8 billion yuan, of which 1.35 billion invested by the partners.

Investment in Guizhou reached 768 Million Yuan in The First Quarter of the Year

    According to statistics, 200 projects were invested in Guizhou by other provinces in the first quarter of the year, with a sum of 768 million yuan. The total investment increased by 24% than that of the same period last year. 17.02 million US dollars of the foreign investors were invested in Guizhou (including joint ventures in China). Since the January this year, 58 key projects and 200 medium-sized programs have invited for bid by Guizhou Tendering Bureau. The Bureau has adopted positive measures to attract more investment in different forms as well.

Chinese State-Owned Companies of Electricity Gather in Guiyang

    On April 26-28, 2001, an annual meeting of state-owned companies of electricity was held in Guiyang, putting forth the priorities of development in the period of the 10th Five-Year Plan. By 2005, the total volume of the generators invested by those companies will reach 156 million kilo watts, the annual production of electricity will be 720 billion kilowatts/hour and the annual sale volume will come to 12 000 billion kilowatts. The total investment adds up to 600 billion yuan. It is a breakthrough in the production of electricity. At that time, more electricity will send successfully to South China to meet the urgent needs of coastal areas. A national grid will be formed and in order.

Guizhou Sends Its Delegation to Take Part In the 6th China (Chongqing) Trade Talk

    On April 23-29, the 6th China (Chongqing) Trade Talk & International Tourism Festival of the Great Three Gorges was held in Chongqing City. It was jointly sponsored and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade & Cooperation, National Tourism Administration, Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs under the State Council and Chongqing Municipal government. Guizhou sent it delegation to the trade talk, led by Mr. Shi Xiushi, governor of Guizhou Province, and Long Chaoyun, vice governor of Guizhou Province. During the talk, Guizhou offered to invite for bid 58 key programs and 200 medium-size ones, main on communication, electricity and coal mining. 15 projects are assigned with a sum of 780 million yuan.

Guizhou Achieved a Lot at the Trade Talk of Public-Run Enterprises

    On May 10, China Ethnic Specialties Fair was held at the Exhibition Hall of Shenzhen High-Tech Fair. Guizhou delegation led by Madam Long Chaoyun, vice governor of Guizhou, had talks with the participants from Canada, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Hunan. 24 projects are assigned concerning 1.986 billion yuan.
