Today, Zhejiang University, as one of the most prestigious ones in Eastern China, sends its student delegation to visit Zunyi City, looking for old dreams every year. During the Anti-Japanese War, Zhejiang University was forced to transfer to Zunyi City in Feb of 1940. The faculty and students traveled 2 600 km from Zhejiang Province to Zunyi City and settled down in three places. Thus Zhejiang University was divided into three campuses: Zunyi, Meitan County Seat and Yongxinchang Township. Those places are about 90 km away from each other. Life here was hard but still meaningful. Some of the students have become international celebrities, such as Prof. Daozheng Lee and Prof. Su Buqing. This trip has been named academic long march in history. Here is a memoir, which reminds us of this academic long march and of the vanished springs of the former students.
